Support & FAQ
ContentCam is built by one developer, and I read every message. If your question isn't answered below, email contentcam.app@gmail.com or ask in the Discord.
Devices & compatibility
Which iPhones does ContentCam support?
iOS 18 or later, so iPhone XS (2018) and newer. Dual Lens mode needs iPhone 11 or later, because it uses Apple's multi-camera capture which older phones don't support.
Does ContentCam work on Android?
Yes. ContentCam for Android is on Google Play and records portrait and landscape simultaneously, with manual white balance, ISO and shutter controls, timelapse, and 4K on supported phones. The teleprompter and Dual Lens mode are iPhone-only for now.
Which phones support 4K and 60fps?
Depends on the camera hardware. ContentCam checks what your phone's active lens can actually deliver and only offers what it can sustain, so you'll never select a mode that silently fails.
Recording
Does recording two formats at once reduce quality?
No. Both files are encoded independently in HEVC: portrait at 1080×1920, landscape at 1920×1080, or 4K equivalents with premium. Neither file is an upscaled crop of the other.
What's the difference between Single Lens and Dual Lens mode?
Single Lens records one camera at its native 4:3 sensor shape, then crops a 9:16 and a 16:9 out of that frame. You keep the full horizontal view in landscape and the full vertical in portrait. Dual Lens (iPhone 11+) records the wide and ultra-wide cameras at the same time, so the two files have genuinely different framing. Full explanation here.
Why is 4K only available in Single Lens mode?
iPhone hardware can't sustain 4K from two cameras at once. Single Lens records 4K; Dual Lens runs at 1080p.
Is there a watermark?
No. Never, on any tier.
What happens if a call or alarm interrupts my recording?
Recording continues through notifications, alarms, Siri and auto-lock, and keeps rolling during phone calls. If the app is force-quit mid-take, the interrupted recording is recovered next launch.
Does the teleprompter scroll automatically?
Yes. It scrolls hands-free at a speed you set, with adjustable text size, colour, reading-line position and a mirror mode for reflector rigs. iPhone, premium. Details here.
Files & storage
Where are my recordings stored?
In the app's own storage, organised by project and scene, and browsable in the iOS Files app under ContentCam. Turn on Save to Photos and every saved take also lands in your photo library. Files are auto-named like my_project_scene_001_Portrait.mov so you can tell them apart in an editor.
Can I trim a take before saving?
Yes, trim on save is built into the review screen (premium to apply the trim).
Purchases
How much does Premium cost?
Annual US$19.99 with a 7-day free trial, monthly US$4.99, lifetime US$39.99 one-off. Same features on every plan. Full breakdown.
Can I try premium features before paying?
Yes. Everything is previewable: manual dials move, the teleprompter opens, 4K toggles. The paywall appears only when you record with a premium feature active.
How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?
App Settings → Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account or Google account you bought with.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Through Apple or Google, not the app. iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Android: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions. You keep premium until the period ends.
How do I get a refund?
iOS: reportaproblem.apple.com. Android: Google Play order history. Stuck? Email me and I'll point you the right way.
I have an offer code. Where do I redeem it?
iPhone: ContentCam Settings → Redeem Code.
Privacy
Does ContentCam collect my data?
No. No account, no analytics, no telemetry, no third-party SDKs. Works fully offline. Three permissions only: Camera, Microphone, Photo Library (add-only). Full privacy policy.
